The state theatre in Darmstadt was rebuilt in 1972 to the design of Rolf Prange. Three stages can be found under one roof, the Kleines Haus (the drama house), the Großes Haus (the grand theatre) and the Werkstattbühne (the experimental stage). Recently the splendid building has been augmented by two remarkable towers and an up- to- date stage technique. The entrance has also been renovated.
