The Hochzeitsturm (Wedding Tower) is a symbolical gift of the Darmstadt citizens to the Archduke on the occasion of his marriage in 1905 with Eleonore von Solm- Hohensolms- Lich.
In the same year, the architect Mr Olbrich began to make plans for the building which can be seen today. The tower was finally opened to the public during the Hessian State Exhibition for Arts and Crafts in 1908. It is 48.50 metres high, the portal leads into the red- brick tower and the whole building is crowned by a turret lined with copper and decorated with violet stones.
Opening hours: March- October, Tuesdays to Sundays 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. Mondays closed.

Darmstadt is a great city and has every attraction that’s worth visiting. The beauty that exudes the city is the main reason why one would want to partake and just enjoy their stay. Magnificent historical structure surrounds the area. nofollow
